This vase was made in the 1960s by the West German company Scheurich and features the typical green glaze on the inside. The decoration is carved from semi-dry clay before being fired in deep cuts, a typical decoration of this period. What makes this vase special is that the glaze was applied to resemble wood. Each piece is unique and bears all the hallmarks of mid-century design. These German ceramics have recently become highly collectible. This piece is in excellent condition with no damage.
