Isamu Noguchi Henry Miller's Cafe Table
'iconic coffee table designed by Isamu Noguchi, a clever design that allows the legs to bend to the floor. The legs are beautifully crafted in walnut showing some minor signs of use. The pin design that allows the legs to rotate indicates that the table was made in the 1960's-70's The N-50 series. The .75mm glass top. After 1965 Henry Miller reduced the flat glass to this size, previously it was . 87mm It was in production until 1973 in this form and then in 2003 reintroduced with the Noguchi signature and thicker glass. This would place this table as being made between 1965 and 1973. But well known. this glass is not original but the same depth and quality This coffee table (the base) was made before 1990 when the pin design was changed. The shape of the legs is rounded and smooth, unlike the modern Vitra version which has a more square profile and appears heavier or the more modern copies which are thin.
