This iconic science fiction- like object was designed by Philippe Starck, a French designer, for the Italian company Alessi around 1990. His product is made of die-cast aluminium for squeezing citrus fruits. This product has been hailed as the most iconic mass-produced product of the 20th century, defining the shift from consumer priority being a need to a desire. It is found in many design museums around the world. This has the authentic Alessi name inscribed in the aluminium.
