La Murrina is an Italian company started in Murano Venice in the late 1960's in the La Murrina Furnace, by a group of skilled glass blowers. They specialised in one-off pieces of beautifully crafted glassware. Each piece is signed La Murrina, etched into the glass. This is an excellent example of their craftmanship, extremely light and delicate hand-blown glass. The shape is a nod to the style of the mid-century. The firm was bought out in the 1970's by a family from Milan, where it continues to this day specialising in brightly coloured, more mass- produced glassware referred to as Murrine glass.
