This special lamp was hand-made in Italy by La Murrina in Venice. They were Murano artisans specialising in one-off, hand-blown, beautiful pieces of art glass for home decor. Each one is signed as this one is with La murrina etched into the glass and a little discreet logo. The firm was later taken over and moved to Milan where today they make more colourful and mass-produced items.
The elegant but whimsical shape fits well in modern interiors with it's understated colouring and translucent appearance. It belies how heavy the glass is but it's well supported by 2 brass wires and has a co-ordinating brass ceiling rose. It takes a E27 light bulb therefore there is choice to have a warm white or cool white light as shown in the photos. This is a rare and collectable piece of Murano that you can enjoy using everyday.
