Pendant Lamp by Mazzega made from Murano Glass SOLD
Angelo Vittorio Mazzega, a visionary Venetian glassblower, started the company in 1946 that would become a leading player in the world of Murano glass. This is a typical example of his early ceiling lamps from that period. The lampshade being made from Murano glass, had to undergo several hand made, hand blown processes to achieve the effects. The shape was first hand blown using two coloured molten glass, then pressed into shape, trimmed to produce a flower shape, preserving the characteristic bubbles in the glass. There is a long chromed metal chain for the suspension with a ceiling rose. Being made for the EU market, the wiring will need renewing for use in the UK or elsewhere.
